Hey folks I need some help. I was given an iphone 3 GS and its still tied to AT&T. I tried to call them to get it carrier unlocked and they told me to call apple. apple told me to call AT&T. I really like the device but cannot afford to have 2 cell contracts nor can I break my current contract with t-mobile without incurring an early termination penalty. does anyone have some information on who to call over at apple? I know they can unlock the phone (they sanction it for some EU carriers) and I know that they sell an unlocked version. I just can't see paying $500 for a new phone that is carrier unlocked (I don't have that kind of discretionary funds laying around either).
the phone has the latest series 4 iOS on board.
