>From what I read, only the more recent iMacs (mid 2010 and newer) have
the capability of modding with the extra drive (SDD but I think a 2.5
HDD will fit too).  Only place I found so far doing this mod is OAC.
Earlier iMacs don't have enough SATA ports unless you want to remove
the DVD writer and use an external one.

As far as the Mini, can't answer.
