One sollution that will work but not fix the problem, is when you really want to shut it down, take out the battery before packing it, then it should be shut down for good.

It never has for me. The only thing I can think of is that when you hit the power button you use S for shut down, which actually stands for sleep. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but this is very strange. Best, Zack. On Jul 15, 2011, at 9:24 PM, Christina wrote: > Hi all, > > Every time I shutdown my macbook it won't stay off. No, I am not hitting restart instead of shut down. A couple of months ago I had to take my mac book to the genius bar so I kept shutting down the computer and it kept restarting. I wanted to turn the computer off before I put it into the bag. Well, I told them about it at the apple store and the problem would not reproduce. Last week I had to travel and I encountered the same problem when trying to pack my laptop. I thought I finally got it to stay shut off but it restarted all on it's own in the bag. So, tonight, I tried to google the problem and I cannot find any help. I have very recently repaired permissions so I don't think that would be helpful. Any ideas? > > Thanks, > Christina > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. > To post to this group, send email to [email protected]. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected]. > For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/macvisionaries?hl=en. > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
