To whom it may concern,
On behalf of the gentlemen who is writing this original message to the Mac
Visionaries list, I also confirm I am having these issues. Please find my
response below his comments. I am also carbon copying this message to the
MacVisionaries list for more possible feedback.
First, let's address Mr. Dyer's Voiceover concerns, then I'll throw in a few
of my own.
He wrote:
First If I am in eather the sorses list or the songs list I have a problem

else having this problem:?
Yup. Sure am. Mine won't do it either without interacting. downright
annoying!

Secondly, I like to keep vo in the lcd section while music is p;layng and
in earlyer versions of itunes this would tell me what track was plaing while
it came up. This is no longer he case. Is this a bug? Does this work in
lion. Hope his can be fixed soon.
I've not honestly tried this. I know if you open ITunes but haven't played
anything yet since you last opened it, then yeah, you'll not get an lcd
section as it isn't really doing anything. It's kind a just sititng there
waiting for you do play something.
Now, I want to add a few things that he didn't mention:
1. By far the most! aggervating! I have a library of probably 12,500
tracks all total. The grid view and text list views work fine if I type
something in the search box and narrow it down, but aside that, once focused
on the grid/music list table, interacting or not, all I get is silence or
maybe ITunes busy, if I'm lucky. Obviously if I tab or shift+tab away, I'm
fine, but that doesn't really prove helpful seeing as I wanna get to a track
in the list view or an album in the grid area. And when in the text list
view, unlike before I cannot up and down arrow and here the full table row,
like song name, etc. Focus does move, but nothing speaks. The only way
around this, is just like the sources list: to interact, then vo+right arrow
over to the column for the name of the track, then vo+down arrow my way
through, making sure that the keyboard focus follows the voiceover cursor.
Otherwise, I'd have to route the mouse with vo+command+F5, then
vo+shift+space to click. Really irritating!
2. I do! like the fact that command up and down arrow now actually isn't
just silent in Lion, but actually says! increase or decrease volume. I
thought that was kind a cool.
3. I was told upon my first purchase after upgrading, that I could have
things wirelessly sync to all my linked I O S devices like my IPod, so I
enabled that, and also did so on my I O S devices under settings/store.
Furthermore, yes, I do have the most recent firmware of I O S that just came
out a day or two ago. I hate to bust you all's bubble, but after checking
music on both, it's not syncing that album I bought to my IPod. Why not?
4. Finally, I'm noticing that there is a quite significant volume drop in
ITunes. Even with the inlined volume up as loud as it'll go, maxed out to a
hundred, with my OSX volume also at a hundred, things definitely are
extremely! audible, don't get me wrong, but they're way! quieter than I
remember them being. I do not have sound check enabled, I've set the
equalizer to flat, and also turned it totally off, also have turned it on,
and set it to vocal booster. I even set it to custom, and turned my mid
range bands and trebble high bands all the way up and even turned the sound
enhancer on and off. When on, it's at 55%. None of that seems to be
hellping too much. It's not the biggest deal in the world, and maybe it
indeed is just me, but it does seem quieter. Maybe though it's all in my
head, who knows.
Anyway, yeah, it would be nice to get these things addressed.
Chris.
