Hello, I am a blind computer user and want very badly to purchase a Mac as I am sick and tired of Windows lack of built-in screen readers. (I used Macs for years but had to shift to Windows because of my job.) Since I am partly paralyzed, I have trouble typing.
I need VoiceOver to automatically read aloud the text that Dragon Dictate has typed onto the screen. For example, if I say "Today is Sunday," Dragon Dictate will print "Today is Sunday" on the screen. I need VoiceOver to read "Today is Sunday" aloud automatically when it appears on the screen, without my having to stop and ask Dragon to read it. I have searched the web looking for information on this to no avail. If I used Dragon Dictate in iWorks, Pages, ot TextEdit would VoiceOver read the text to me as it appears, even if it won't read it to me in Dragon's dedicated composition window. Would MacSpeech work better? If anyone knows anyone with Dragon Dictate or MacSpeech who could check this for me, I would be very grateful.
