Thanks, i googled some and apparently its worth it if you get the 11 inch model, also better for battery life in general. For the 13 inch there is a 10 % performance if you go from i5 to i7 for the 11 inch thats 25%.

Sounds like in general the Air i5 is crazy fast, trouncing MacBook Pros from less than a year ago.

Hi everyone,
I have been delving a bit more into the apple site (the different macbook air models) apparently the accu in the 11 inch is a lot less powerful and that is with the normal i5 processors. The i7 upgrade is a bit costly. I wonder if it is really worth it. If you compare with the standard 11 inch it only has 1 mb more cach and 200 mhz more clockspeed. I am not sure about the diffences between the i5 and i7 families htough. I know i7 has turboboost but not sure if the i5 has it too. I assume i7 uses more energy so drains the battery earlier? I cannot find the processor names on the apple website so cant check reviews. Can anyone tell me more about the i5 and i7 processors and if it is worth going for the i7 upgrade in regards with speed (turboboost I suppose) and if it will drain the battery significantly more?
Thanks in advance, again,
Greetings, Anouk,
