It's an interesting idea. I, for one, wouldn't have bought a Magic Trackpad if 
it weren't for the large size. I find it easier to navigate and use gestures 
that way. The thing I don't know is how large the trackpads are on the Mac 
laptops, as I've never owned one. But if it's a matter of the large size, it 
would definitely be a serious consideration for me. On the other hand, I'm 
quite comfortable using my IPod's small screen. This might be something to try 
extensively before you buy.
