I find that sometimes a disclosure triangle is "part of a group" (like in the mailbox list in Snow Leopard. In these cases, you need to interact with the group before the right arrow will work. (It might be that there are ways the developer could have the group just feed the arrow keys to the disclosure triangle ... but that is nothing Users could change).
