Hi Anne,
Thanks for the wisdom. Does this aspect change if the ebook belongs to you? I can understand copy restrictions if it is a library text, those have time limits these days anyway. but if the book is mine, I should be able to well take notes or something?
at least you can copy a page, smiles.

Hello Karen,

The important thing about Adobe Digital Editions is that it can be used to read protected
ebooks. Officially, you can't copy from these, but the VO command, "Copy last spoken
phrase to clipboard", works fine. So you can copy a full page into a word processor
and edit it there. A sighted person would have to take a screen shot to copy parts of a
protected book, and that would not, of course, be in text form.

Cheers,

Anne

Hi all,
forgive me if this sounds a bit unusual, but I am wondering just what you can
do with the ap, say compared to..lets be very basic, opening a HTML copy of a
book you got from project Gutenberg
by which I mean, if I have a copy of something like oh, "Great Expectations,"
by Charles Dickens, and I am using this program, can I still do things like
copy sections for note purposes, add comments to myself for study, I take it
the words are really there, meaning I can review ext again if desired?
I have not read this way at all, do a great deal of professional research, and
am finding I must come up with something extra as even library books are
requiring Adobe for use.
wisdom as to what one can and cannot do with the application?
