Hello Jessica, Here's something else you could try. Go to Library. This is a hidden file, but if you press Cmd-Shift-G then type ~/Library/ you'll get it.
In Library, open Preferences (not preference panes), and find com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist. Copy this file to your desktop just in case, then delete it from the Preferences folder and try Pages again.
