Hello all, Since the beginning of september , the program pear note is out on the ipad. The same program exists already for a longer time on the macbook and is accessible on the macbook.
What it does: You can write texts in a simple text editor and while writing, you can record the voices around you. This is not so special but it can more: While typing during a speech, the typed words are a kind of bookmarks for the speech. e.g. You have heard something interesting they said but you where to late to note or to slow to note exactly, you can just write something shortly. After, you can simply jump to the moment they say that interesting thing by clicking that word on the text and play the record from there. So, in my opinion very useful for students. Unfortunately, the program isn't yet accessible because the text editor is in rtf-format and voiceover can't see the edit-field :( What I have done already: I explained the developer how vo is working and, I have also contacted accessibility about that problem. Accessibility has given some info for the developer to contact them and I have forwarded it. What I would ask to you: 1. if the description is something you like, just download pear note on your ipad , it's 50% : about 4$ 2. if you can take some time, look around and try to play with it. (you shouldn't be able to write a text because you can't write in the body of the text-field, only in the name of the text-field). 3. if you have perhaps suggestions your self to solve this or you know programmers that can give suggestions to the developer, send it to: Chad Sellers <[email protected]> I have the impression that he is willing to help if he knows that the program can be very useful for blind people. 4. If you know equivalent programs on the ipad that give this features and are accessible , you can write it also of course. Thanx a lot for your comments, help... kind regards, William Windels -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
