Hi, Iona and Teresa,
Apart from searching for messages containing my search term anywhere, I haven't
gotten any further either. Some people say that a menu appears below the
toolbar where your search term is. This is true on my machine sometimes, but it
is not as easy as that, to search for information in a specific field, such as
from, to, subject, body, bcc, reply-to, a date range, or whatever. I can't
imagine that you can't do that on a mac inside mail, but despite all
instructions on this list, I'm still having the same issue. After typing the
search term, the menu just doesn't always appear, and if it does, it only has 1
or 2 items.

1. Do I need to press enter or not, after typing the search term in the mail
toolbar? What if I do, what if I don't?
2. How can I get to the menu with search options, that some of you are
mentioning, like searching only in the from, field, only in the message body
etc? Does quicknav need to be on or off in this particular case? I got the
advice to hit down arrow after typing my search term, and sometimes it brings
up a menu, but you can never tell before hand, what this menu is going to
contain. In my case, sometimes only a people, menu entry, and I suppose that
lets you look for message from someone specific. But I then see no other
options. I once got the menu to show a subjects item. But the entire exact
search thing is still unclear to me. I'd love to get it working though.

3. Does the options menu while searching, appear before or after hitting enter
on the search term in the toolbar?
Paul.
