AVI is a container format like QuickTime so it can have any number of different video formats inside of it. I've been able to play most AVI files with QuickTime but maybe yours have a special codec. Do you have Perian and Flip4Mac installed? Those cover most of the common video codecs out there other than DRMed Windows Media files.

Hi all,

I cannot open a downloaded avi movie in quicktime. How do I find out what
program opens it or how to download additional codecs for quicktime? Moovie
works on iphone in o-player app.

Thanks,

Ioana
