I happily stand corrected. I just used the steps listed in the previous message on this subject and it worked like a charm.
To recap: 1. Use Mission Control to bring of a list of spaces/Desktops. In this view you can easily add alternative Desktops complete with their own Desktop backgrounds. 2. When you wish to delete/remove/close an alternative Desktop once again open the Spaces list, Interact with this list, find the Desktop you wish to close/delete/remove, and issue the VO+Command+F2 key combo. To confirm that you wish to delete the target alternative Desktop, simply press the return key; to cancel this operation, tap the escape key.
