Greetings, I currently have a gmail POP account but I'd like to change it to a IMAP account so my iPhone, and mac reflect the same e-mails and such. I never use gmail's online version to check my e-mail. However, I went online through safari and noticed my current gmail has 23,000 e-mails in the inbox. My apple mail does not have this many of course.
Questions 1. If I change the settings in gmail to iMAP, do I then add a new account in apple mail with all the proper iMAP settings or do I just change the settings with my current account? 2. Depending which one I do for question one, will apple mail download all 23,000 e-mails onto my computer? I'm sorry but I'm confused but I was planning on following the steps laid out at: http://tidbits.com/article/10253 However, these directions seem like they're for a new gmail account and I wasn't sure what would happen with an existing gmail account that has been using POP.
