Hi! I don't know about various sound canvuses, but to my admittedly 
unprofessional ears, midi playback under SL is some of
the best quality I've ever heard. I actually made an mp3 demonstrating the 
problem, so will attach a link for you to download
it from my dropbox. The difference is like night and day, that's for sure.

almost wish I could get a refund on my
purchase of lion; in many ways, it's been nothing but a tremendous
