Hello Denise,

VueScan is only available direct from the developer, Ed Hamrick. It costs $39
for one year, or $79 for life. It has regular updates, mainly adding support
for new scanners. The Website is:
www.hamrick.com

ABBYY FineReader comes from the Appstore. I don't know how much it costs in
dollars, but in euros, it's €79. $99 sounds more likely than $199.

VueScan will actually do OCR as well, but it isn't as good as FineReader, and
it doesn't correct the orientation, unlike FineReader.

Cheers,

Anne
