Hello Denise, VueScan is only available direct from the developer, Ed Hamrick. It costs $39 for one year, or $79 for life. It has regular updates, mainly adding support for new scanners. The Website is: www.hamrick.com
ABBYY FineReader comes from the Appstore. I don't know how much it costs in dollars, but in euros, it's €79. $99 sounds more likely than $199. VueScan will actually do OCR as well, but it isn't as good as FineReader, and it doesn't correct the orientation, unlike FineReader.
