I understand that not hearing the clicks can be disconcerting. However, this is an improvement because there was a time that no audible feedback was provided and it took some effort to get APple onboard with the idea. Primary reason from APple's perspective was security, which I certainly appreciate. I suspect, but cannot confirm that there are some limitations on the audible feedback for security reasons. I am not interested in debating whether this makes sense or not and again this is speculation on my part to some degree. SImply type in your password and assume it has been entered.
