Hi Matt. I had this happen as well. Go to Adium preferences. Under the Events tab, navigate to the events table. Expand the section that says, Contact signs on. If you see something that says, Display Growl notification, press the delete key and it should delete that preference. Do the same under the section that says, Contact signs off.
