Hey,
Create a software instrument track, make sure it's selected, and then go to
track info. Then select the browse tab. You'll see a pop-up button, you want to
make sure that Show All is the option that's selected. That way, all your
software instruments will be displayed in the browser, which is right after the
pop-up button. If you interact with this browser anduse VO up and down arrows,
you'll navigate through a list of categories of instruments and sound effects
that you can choose from. Once you find the category you want, just hit VO
right arrow and it should put you in a list of all available instruments in
that group. I've never used this with a USB keyboard, but if I enable musical
typing, all I need to do is start pressing keys and the instrument or effect
I've selected starts playing. When I move down to the next instrument in that
category, it will automatically switch to it the next time I press a key.

I'm not too sure on how to automate panning and volume, but my guess is that
it'll probably be in track info as well. Try selecting the edit tab and see
where that gets you. If not, then maybe it's somewhere in the track headers
groupe, where the manual volume and panning sliders are.
