Hi Guys. This happens to me occasionally in TextEdit, and I hadn't noticed it until the last update. I think I should let Apple know about this, just in case they don't know. I think it has to do with VoiceOver somehow because if I turn off VO and wait a few seconds and then turn it back on the problem is fixed. I don't know, since I can't see the screen, if this has anything to do with saving files.
