Phew, thanks guys!  It took a few attempts, but the holding down the power 
button for a few seconds worked.

That was a bit tech scary.  Lol!

I even tried the control-command-power, and that wasn't working.

Anyway, when my Mac came back, an error report popped up, and I sent it off to 
Mac.
