my question to you is this... firstly, what mac are you using?
if it's one of the new macbook pro 13" or macbook air, the audio jack is a combo jack for both input and output. so yes it will block the external mic, if however you are using the internal mic, there's no problem. sorry lol lew "My brain hurts..."
