your 2011 macbook pro will not permit a downgrade because of the firmware your 
laptop is running. you are stuck with lion I'm afraid. the reason for this is 
due to lion installing a new locked firmware which protects the system. it's no 
longer open firmware like on a powermac, etc or earlier intel macs. I can telly 
you some disasters of users trying to roll back to snow leopard and it taking 
days to do a system recovery using the original software disks which came with 
the system.
