Hi Scott, Thanks for responding. In fact, I just came back from the store and purchased a new bluetooth headphone, Jabra and have found it very good. I must say this was a little expensive but I am very happy with it.

You might be able to update the firmware; however, you will have to contact the manufacturer of the headphone. This is not a problem with the iPhone or VoiceOver, but instead the headphone.
