Hi, The transfer of your iTunes Library will only free up HD space, it will not affect the RAM at all. By moving the Library over, you can free up all the space used up by the iTunes media on the HD of the MBP freeing it up for other stuff you may use and also freeing up disk space that the OS may use for Virtual Memory when running various apps. If your MBP HD is very low on space, then that Virtual Memory is very limited.
