Hi,

If you control click on the link, you'll get a contextual menu with an option to open link in new window. I am not aware of any modifier combination with a click that does this in Safari.

The behavior of opening a new window without control clicking is solely under the control of the web designer. So, sometimes you'll get a pop up, or a new browser window even if you don't specified that based on how the web page is coded.

Hi, well how do you make a link open in another window like you can
under windows by hitting shift inter? And command w closes the current
window correct? Does mac always open windows in the same window unlike
internet explorer that will some times choose to pop up another one
when you click a link?
