Song writers are the ones who hurt more from services like this. They do pay royalties but like Ricardo says, they aren't making much. The quality of the stuff I've been listening to is pretty darn good and the selection is huge. You can listen to a song as much as you like, so its just like purchasing the music for a lower price in the long term.
It asked me to sign in using my facebook account but I chose not to share and so on with friends. That will keep the noise down.
