Hi all, I'm pasting below the work-around my husband found for installing jam packs, in case anyone else needs this info. I would add two things to the info below. First, VO-Shift-M worked for the right click to open the folders and view their contents. Second, when you get the error messages at the end, there is no way to close the window. Clicking OK does nothing, and you can't hit Escape or Command Q or Command W. But, if you simply Cmd-Tab away from the window, it will close. Here's the info. Best, Donna Some people say Garageband Jam Packs are not compatible with the new Mac OS X lion. They’re wrong! Jam packs are compatible with Mac OS X Lion. However since the method of installing Jam Packs require Power PC / Plistbuddy application, you do run into problems when installing them.
The most common problem that the Mac Lion users are facing is the Plistbuddy Error. Error Message: You can’t open application PlistBuddy because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. watch the PlistBuddy error: httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VQLtEO_g0Q The first time I encountered this, I thought it was some kind of Mac Virus. There isn’t much to find on Google about this error so I’ve decided to make a blogpost about it. This infinite loop error is caused by the installation of Jam Pack: World Music. Since Mac OS X Lion doesn’t support PowerPC application; OS X will give you the infinite loop plistbuddy error message. Now, when it comes to this stage, there isn’t much you can do but to Click and Hold the power button on your Mac forcing a system restart. THE WORKAROUND: To make a fresh install of Garageband Jam Pack : World Music, you need to separately install the instrument package and the loop package. Here is how to do it: Insert the CD / Open up the mounted disk Right Click on the package named “Install Jam Pack World Music” > Choose Show Package Content Open up the “Content” folder Open up the “Installers” folder Inside the folder you’ll find couple of packages or installations. Install WorldMusic_Instruments_Tiger.pkg Install WorldMusic_Loops_Tiger.pkg During the installation, you will still run into the PlistBuddy error, however it will not give you the infinite loops. You’ll get couple of error messages, just ignore and close all of them. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
