Another great option for playing midi in lion is vlc media player. It's way
betterthan quicklook. Still can't figure out how
or why that got so messed up between SL and lion, but at least I finally found
an acceptible workaround. I didn't go for the
GB option because of the problem you're describing; songs aren't played with
the correct instruments. Glad you got it
working, though.

Subject: Re: To play midi files on a mac.

Hi Ricardo.
Amazingly enough I got my email to sort of work on the mac. So, I'll still go
for that genius appointment because I had to do
some girations to get here.

I did get this Midi to play. The first time another file I had sounded weird. I
got the second one to play; it's really
great Midi that I don't want to lose. The thing is that when I pasted it " and
played it, it played in piano. However, it's
supposed to be in banjo. I can't figure out how, even though I found the banjo,
to get it to play in banjo and not piano.
It's a Midi of Dueling Banjos. The piano sounds great, even with the metronome.
Making progress, though. Thanks for the tip.
I'm not sure how long it would have taken me.

Regards,
Gigi

Press enter once just to make sure the file gets placed at the beginning of the
timeline.

Where do you put your VO cursor so you can press command V?

can sit down and do it over again. The best I remember, I went to load existing
file, found one of my Midi files and chose
it. Then I got the message that Garage Band could not play the Midi files. I
find it strange that it wouldn't play the file
even though it recognized the kind of file I had.
