Hello Everyone,

As I have been a bit under the weather, I am a little confused on this
subject so please forgive any redundancy.

I have an old Cannon USB scanner that I like a great deal; however, if
necessary, I will relegate it for use on my PC only.

I, like so many others, want to begin scanning daily postal mail for easy
read-back using my MacBook Pro running Lion.

I have heard/read several comments on Abby fine reader; question, is this
the proverbial Jaws app on the Mac for its purpose? That is to say, in
Windows, Jaws and Window Eyes are the two big screen-reading hitters for
blind folks; so I am trying to determine if there is such a "big hitter" OCR
app for the Mac. Is there a built-in OCR program in Lion?

If Abby Fine reader is the one people like the most, then I will purchase a
new scanner, if necessary. Frankly, I thought that as long as a scanner is
Twain compliant it would be fine but I guess this is not the case.

Thank you all for any replies.

Mark
