Yuma, I agree there are issues with Gmail's implementation of imap or just something with Google in general. I have also seen that all my messages are retained; however, I was lead to believe the messages are deleted after 30 days if you do nothing. I'm not entirely sure about that either. I have also seen strange cases where some messages that are a part of an entire thread are not kept with the thread. THis seems to occur with certain e-mail lists, so not sure if this is a specific Gmail issue or not. Yep, odd stuff going on.
