It is not really an answer but personally I found the Typing tutors 
unsatisfactory . What I di eventually was purchase an audio typing course  from 
 the RNIB and made sure that my typing echo was set to letter and words. This 
did the trick nicely for me and within a couple of weeks I was touch typing 
happily. Basically I used earphones to listen to the audio tutorial and 
headphones over these  to listen to the computer.  I then used to practise by 
playing  some of my favourite  music    and trying to type out the lyrics out 
whilst I listened. Of course I was not fast enough to get all  the lyrics but 
it was great way of practising.

Of course this is all possible to do with a Mac as well as a Windows computer.
