Actually, I would like to state that I'm using 10.7.3 and yet, I was able to 
delete the files you specified.  How, easy.  I used Tinker Tool to expose the 
~/Library/preferences folder and once there, I deleted the files you indicated. 
 Yes, it's true that in 10.7, the ~/Library/Prefs folder is hidden; however, 
there are ways in which it can be exposed and manupulated.
