Hi, This is not necessary. Unless he first changes the location of the iTunes media folder in iTunes prefs, consolidating will just do nothing at best, and at worse make a duplicatete copy of all his media oh his hard drive that he probably just moved his library from. I think the best thing to do here is just point iTunes at the new location. Open iTunes prefs and under advanced, and under iTunes Media folder location hit the change button. Now select the location of the iTunes media folder in the file browser. This should fix the problem. your
