I was actually wondering the same thing. I've been trying to sign up for/
log into a couple sites that I haven't visitted in a while that now require
a captcha as a security measure for everything, so I can't even get help
recovering my loggin info, but they don't have an audio capcha, so no luck.

Subject: Captcha Solving on the Mac
åHello, I am trying to set up a Google Group for a Mac discussion group that
I am starting but I cannot seem to get past the Captcha. Is there any way
to get past a Captcha on the Mac? I know that one can go to www.solona.net,
but whenever I try to go there Safari just shows me a message that says that
Safari could not locate the server. I am not sure if this means that Solona
is no more, or if maybe I have the wrong url. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.
Scott
