anyone here of mackeeper.com? I just had a popup appear from them (while browsing another site) and it won't let me close its window (claims its an application). it also prevents me from closing any other independent windows that safari has open. I may need to find a malware scanner (similar to the windows application spybot search and destroy) and run it here. I am also considering getting a different anti-virus program. it appears that the sophos package isn't voiceover friendly. so, what use is an A/V client if I can't even access the controls to do even a scan? I ran into this problem after trying to do something other than an automatic scan. I was also unable to access it the system bar icon (it appears invisible to voiceover). I had this confirmed with a sighted assistant who noted that the icon was further to the left of the applescripts icon and was unreachable with any of the keyboard commands.
I finally had to resort to the force quit dialog just to get Safari to quit. so? my question is this: is there an app that can scan an OS X based machine like some of the apps for windows (apps like MalwareBytes antiMalware, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Ad Aware). if anyone knows of such an application that is voiceover friendly, I would certainly appreciate hearing from you. -eric -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
