1.  Navigate to the point at which you wish to drop your first mark.

2.  Press command+y to rout the insertion point to this location.

3.  Now, press p to place the marker.

4.  Now, navigate to the point where the next marker should be.

5.  Now, press command+y to rout the insertion point and press p again.

6.  Now, press space bar to play your selection.

Note, you must have the play slelection item checked in the general prefs for 
this to work.
