Yes. Just open the image with ABBYY FineReader and click on the appropriate 
button (RTF, PDF, HTML).

There is no specific scanner that comes with the Mac so I don't know which 
you're talking about. I use ABBYY FineReader with VueScan because when scanning 
a book, I like to have all the images in one file which is then opened by ABBYY 
FineReader to perform the OCR. OCR is what ABBYY Reader does, nothing more and 
nothing less.
