Hi The trouble with what the old screen readers do in Windows when implemented on Mac is that there are quite a few apps that don't understand the standard methods of keyboard navigation. Many apps don't let you tab to all controls, or arrow through lists. So, even if interaction were to be axed, we would still need some way to handle these. In Windows, you have the mouse pointer movement commands of your screen reader of choice, but that's not quite as efficient when you have a large amount of data that must be scrolled repeatedly to find what you want. I'm sure it could be streamlined, but I doubt the concept will ever be completely removed at least, not as long as OS X remains primarily a keyboard and mouse driven system.
