You may not see the benefit for you; however, you have to consider the types of applications you would be using. This surely is not the only example, but I for one find reading Mail on the iPad to be a much better experience because of the real estate. I find reading articles with apps such as Feeddler Pro to be a little more pleasant. In this case size does make a difference because of the increased real estate. On the other hand I also have an iPhone and I use it a great deal and there are apps I prefer to use based on the smaller size. So, it really depends on what your tasks are.
