An doing this will record the activity that is on your screen, meaning, if I were to upload a tutorial using this method, they would see me doing something on the screen but not hearing voice over or me right? Thanks for the explination.

From there your cursor should alread be on the start recording button. Once you press that you will need to click the mouse to actually start it. I recommend messing with this a few times to get a feel for it.
