If you buy an unlocked iPhone, you will also need to buy a micro sim card from T-Mobile. Or you can trim your regular size sim card to fit in the iPhone's sim card tray. It's tricky, you want to make sure you trim it correctly to make sure the contact points are lined up. There are YouTube videos that show you how to do this. I would recommend just going to a T-Mobile store and buying a micro sim card. The internet speed is 2G, or also known as EDGE. I believe your N82 is also using 2G, or in Nokia's term, EGPRS. I don't believe N82's 3G is compatible with T-Mobile's frequency. So I think when you go to the iPhone, the speed is the same.
