Hi Jenny,

First, let me try and explain once more, how to reply privately; at least, how
it works on my system and I just practice the steps a few times to be sure
things would behave consistently. To begin with, I am not in classic view but
I don't think that will matter for message replies.

When I open a message for reading, I do not interact with the message text
itself. I find it sufficient enough to just use the arrow keys like in a text
editor to read the message contents. When I want to reply privately to someone
on this list at least, I do the following:

1. Use VO-Left arrow key to hit the message headers group; note it says groups
so will need to be interacted with.

2. Use VO-Shift-down_arrow to interact with this group; important: do this
twice in succession.

3. You should now be sitting on text for the message header fields. This is
where I did run into some possible confusion. Use the VO-arrow keys to move
around and make sure you are positioned on the contents of the "From" field. So
an example would be your specific email address if I were replying to you
privately right now.

4. Press VO-Shift-M to open a context menu; you should get seven items showing.

5. Arrow down until you hear "Reply to sender" and hit VO-space.

Once or twice I ran into a situation where the context menu did not include the
reply option; nut exactly sure why this happened but I just used VO-arrow keys
to move around and re-select the email address and did it again; it worked that
time.

Fwew! what a lengthy explanation but I hope it is clear enough for you.

Now for classic mode, do the following:

1. press Command-comma from within the mail app to open the application
preferences.

You may land directly on the check box which will be to enable Classic mode.

2. If this does not happen, then you are probably on a different set of
options. To change this, use VO-arrow keys and move left to find "Tool bar."

3. Interact with this tool bar and choose "Viewing" end select with VO-space.

4. After having pressed that button, you should be positioned on the Classic
mode check box. Toggle the box according to your wishes.

5. Close the preferences dialog and go on your way.
