Don't know whether this will help, but "Publishing with iBooks Author: An 
Introduction to Creating Ebooks for the iPad"  by Nellie McKesson and Adam 
Witwer is a free book (70 pages long) from O'Reilly that you can download from 
the iBooks Store:
