Right, if you already have the track or tracks in iTunes, just set mp3
as your encoder of choice in preferences and then chose Create MP3
Version from the advanced menu. If all the tracks in a folder need
converted you can just do Command-A to select all and then convert them
in a batch.

Maria,
There is, and I've used that, but I really like switch.
Would it be possible for you to send me a direct link for downloading it?
I'm having trouble finding the mac version.
Also, how do I install it properly? Thank you
Stacey and Chesley.

Hi Stacy
I have recently purchased a very accessible mp3 converter called
"mp3 converter" from the app store. It was about $5 NZ so not
expensive. You have to go into the app, add the files you want to
convert and it does it. Very easy to use and not expensive. It
takes all sorts of formats and converts them to MP3. You can't
just point at a file and do the convert from there - you have to
go into the app itself to do it but it does a nice job with lots
of sample rate choices. And you can do multiple files at once.

Hi,
Is there a program or utility out there that is accessible that
will allow me to highlight a file then go into the context menu
to convert it to mp3.
Example, If I have something in dropbox that needs to be
converted, I don't want to go into itunes.
I'd like to be able to highlight it and convert.
If there's something out there, where do I get it and how do I
install it?
Thanks,
When I was using windows, I used a program called switch.
