Interesting. Wikipedia doesn't list the 3.1.4 version

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VMware_Fusion

but now that you mention it, I was on 3.1.4 before upgrading to 4.x. Sounds like 3.1.4 has enough fixes to resolve the issue. Good to keep in mind.

Hello Chris. That's what I thought also but there is a 3.1.4 version. I just
upgraded to 3.1.4 and everything seems to be working just fine now.

Thanks so much.

As far as I know 3.1.3 is the latest version before you have to pay to
upgrade to the 4.x series. From what I've gathered, official support for OSX
Lion only started with 4.x so you won't get much love from VMWare about
issues with 3.1.3 not working. 3.1.3 was released May 31, 2011 and
3.0 in general came out in October 2009, so it's had a good run. The fact
that Fusion 3 still worked on a version of OSX that wasn't even released
until July 2011 was pretty surprising. There were a number of deals in the
$30 range to upgrade from 3 to 4 last year but by now all those are pretty
much over. Best I could find were in the $45 range with free shipping. B&H
Photo has it for $43:

Unless somebody is running a special, that's probably about the cheapest out
there. There were a lot of complaints about the lack of an upgrade price in
the VMWare Fusion forums but in the end they said it was still cheaper than
Parallels which has had more paid upgrades over the same period of time. Of
course Parallels doesn't work with voiceover so that's not even an option.

Hello everyone. Last night I upgraded from Lion 10.7.3 to Lion 10.7.4. I
currently run VM Ware Fusion 3.1.3 because I would have to pay to upgrade to
the next version.
Now, When I start up VM Ware Fusion I get the following error messages.

Unable to retrieve Kernel Zone Sizes.
Failed to Initialize Monitor Device.
Cannot find a valid Peer process to connect to.

Have any of you been able to recover from these errors?
Do you have contact information for Technical support contacts for
VMWare? Are there any resources that document the fix for this problem?
Thanks so much for any help you can provide.

I hope you have a nice day.
