Self hosted with wordpress gives you full control over your site. You can
advertise on it, add other things which wp.com will not let you. &, the
plugins which you can use are endless. Selfhosted is the only way to go in
my opinion.

I have an account with wordpress.com so it is hosted by them.
I know I can transfer to wordpress.org which is self hosted but I don't
know if it is worth it.
I KNow there are some plug ins I would really like to use but what does
self hosting include? Can anyone explain this to me? I don't know as much
as I should about this.
