Hi,

 

Actually, Apple changed the way the SDD is connected to the logic board on
the 2012 MBA. It's a completely different connector as opposed to the one
used in the 2011 model.

As for ram, that's also only upgradable at time of order.

Yes you can.

You can buy a ram or a SSD and  upgrade it by yourself or anyone can do it
for you.

A friend of mine recently bought a 16 gb ram for something like 70 euros for
her 2011 mac book pro.
