Dear Joseph, I have pasted below a description by Tim Kilburn on how to revert to earlier versions of a document in TextEdit. I have found it by doing a search in the Googlegroups pages. I will post copy the link to that particular page for your information.
Hope this will help See below for Tim's post. https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topicsearchin/macvisionaries/file$20versions$20textedit$20kilburn/macvisionaries/_DyhmXR5eI4Simon "If your volume supports tracking versions in TextEdit, then you should be able to do the following: clickable • Open the document. • Either Stop Interacting with the Scroll area, then navigate to the Versions menu and choose Browse Versions, or go under the File menu and choose Revert. • In either case you will probably need to use the Window Chooser (VO-f2-f2) to get a list of documents. • You can select one of them, read through it and determine which one you wish to use. • After you've determined which one is best, use the Window Chooser again to select the Version Browser. • Select the correct one and then press the Revert button."
